During the sale or transfer of a property in Piedmont, a Home Energy Score (HES) or Home Energy Audit must be included in the disclosure packet.
The Home Energy Score or Audit must have been conducted within the past five years.
A Home Energy Score or Audit is not required if the home was built within the last ten years.
A BESO Assessment must be completed before listing any property for sale (850 – 25,000 sq ft). You can no longer defer the assessment to the buyer.
