We don't just
sell a score.

We communicate how your home works as a system, providing actionable data to optimize comfort and efficiency.

Don't Let the
City Requirement
Delay Your Closing

For the mandated time-of-sale energy assessment, we utilize the Home Energy Score. This nationally standardized asset rating, approved by the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Public Utility Commission, estimates your home's current and future energy efficiency.

Mandatory Pre-Sale Home Energy Score

Your home's Mile-per-Gallon sticker

A 1–10 rating of your home's energy efficiency. Estimated annual energy costs are shown in three scenarios: as-is, after weatherization upgrades, and fully electrified, along with a prioritized list of recommended actions.

Who Needs This?

Single family and side-by-side duplex homes in Piedmont and Berkeley, older than 10 years. Stacked duplexes in Berkeley only. ADUs with a kitchen and bathroom need a separate score in Piedmont; exempt in Berkeley.

About us

Hi, I'm Shin! I'm an Energy Analyst and Building Scientist, a BPI Certified Building Analyst Professional and DOE Certified Home Energy Score Assessor, a designer, maker, tinkerer, and problem-solver. Most importantly, I'm a homeowner passionate about bringing comfort, efficiency, and beauty into living spaces.

With a Ph.D. in information science and a background in design, I specialize in turning complex building data into engaging, actionable insights. My goal is to help homeowners truly understand how their home works as a system, and take control of its performance and comfort.

My experience spans UX design, digital tools, and product development, including my time as a startup co-founder. I serve the entire San Francisco Bay Area, from Piedmont and Berkeley to San Francisco, Marin, and the Peninsula.

When I'm not helping clients, you'll find me traveling, swimming, playing tennis, skiing, cooking, or singing with two choir groups in the East Bay and San Francisco. Let's make your home more comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable!
